On a cooler day, Ginny, Neil M and Kasher armed with slashers, shears and loppers attacked the paths Todmorden 145 and Todmorden 185 above the canal at Warland.
These paths were last cleared in late Summer 2022. It certainly looks as if these paths have been more heavily used, so many thanks to those who have ventured up the hill rather than pottering along the towpath.
A number of different techniques of bracken bashing were tried but all were hard work . . . and had varying amounts of success!
We also, along these routes, re-established some of the marker posts which seem to have been much favoured as 'rubbing posts'. The final part of our working session was spent pulling Himalayan Balsam near the parking area outside Bellhome sports area.
Today's work was funded by the donation from Todmorden Harriers', Flower Scar Fell Race. Many thanks.
