On another beautiful May day RJ and Kasher were working on the Pennine Bridle Way (PBW).
CROWS have been asked by Natural England to carry out strimming and cutting back on a number of sections of the PBW in the Upper Calder Valley.
Today we completed the PBW section (Todmorden 172) ne
ar Top Brink. It was a warm day, but we managed to resist the temptations of the Top Brink pub and instead completed widening and cutting back on the route that goes down from the Methodist graveyard (at Mankinholes), continues past the pub and descends the steep causey path to Lumbutts Road.

We would like to thank the landlord of the 'Top Brink' for providing parking facilities so we could access the work sites more easily and avoid a long, preliminary 'carry' of equipment.
Next week we will move on to two sections of the PBW near Bottomley. The job is to tackle the nettles and brambles that have flourished recently to engulf parts of the route.
