Jerry, Lynda, Linda, Heidi and Rich went to the bottom of the bridleway, called Carr Hall Lane, to tackle five jobs that were requested by Calderdale Highways.
- Putting in a boardwalk over a ditch
- Re-seating a finger post that had rotted off
- Clearing stretches of a blocked ditch
- Cutting back a small amount of encroaching vegetation
- Improving some mud steps
The details
Having accessed the site via the deer park, Linda and Heidi went up the lane to sort some drainage and cutting back.
The work site was a quagmire with a rotting pallet forming a makeshift crossing. Linda valiantly scraped off some horrid mud on the work site and then went to dig out the overflowing side-drain.
Rich and Jerry assemble the framework for the boardwalk across the ditch and secured it to the ground.
Then all change round for fixing the slats, putting in anti-slip staples and improving the 'mud' steps above.
Then, on our exit back to Stainland . . . a real treat!
