Linda, Heidi and Rich tackled two problems recently reported through our website.
1. Encroaching vegetation on the path from Hirst Bridge to Hirst (yellow on the map)
2. Five years build up of mulch around Hirst Bridge and the path to Sandy Gate making it pretty unpleasant to walk on (blue on the map).
Work on this very popular path was funded by individual donations to CROWS via Just Giving
The details
The first task was to clear the bridge where the mulch was wall to wall. Something very satisfying to reveal the old stone surface when the mulch was removed.
We then moved on to the path from Nutclough where we dug out the grips to take the water off and then scraped back the path.
To take a break we went and cut back the path to Hirst, mainly brambles and giving the spirea a haircut.
Then back to the path from the bridge towards Sandy Gate, where we scraped off a metre wide path.
Ginny will be pleased when she gets home!
