WADSWORTH: DIMMIN DALE / HIGH BROWN KNOLL
It was an icy, cloud covered start to the day as Nick, Andrew and Paul parked their car at Latham and walked over the moor to Dimmin Dale Edge carrying two small marker posts and tools for the days work ahead. Todays task was twofold. One was to install two marker posts at strategic locations on the bridleway that runs in a southerly direction from High Brown Knoll. Secondly to sort out some stepping stones and a boggy area on the section of the bridleway that crosses the beck at the top of Back Clough.
Paul and Andrew set to installing the first marker post at where the footpath leaves the bridleway at Dimmin Dale Edge while Nick started tackling the drainage at the beck crossing:

Following this installation, Andrew and Paul re-joined Nick to assist in his efforts at digging a drainage channel to run collected water off the muddy path that leads down to the beck.

The beck was in full spate from melting snow drifts. Given time and some dry weather, this section of the bridleway will hopefully dry out sufficiently and be easier to traverse. From this we walked in a northerly direction on the bridleway to High Brown Knoll Edge where we installed the second marker post:
