On a day when heavy showers were forecast, three teams went out from Todmorden. The weather forecast, however, proved to be wrong and we had a bright, sunny but windy day.
Catherine and Kasher tackled drainage issues on Tod 041. We spent time clearing turnbys from just above Todmorden tennis club to Broad Gate (near Todmorden golf club). Some of these turnbys may not have been cleared for many, many years.
Due to Catherine's persistence, we achieved a 'Eureka' moment when we managed to get the turnbys fully cleared from trackway to fields beyond the wall. It is really satisfying when you know that a turnby will now do its job and provide an 'escape route' for the large volume of water which previously was causing severe erosion of this narrow track
We also cut back the Brambles, Berberis and Rhododendrons along the path.

Meanwhile, Jerry and Ken constructed another tree enclosure at Guide Quarry off Flowerscar Road. We have been assured that this is the last enclosure . . . at least for a while!

Today's work was funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks
