WADSWORTH - PECKET WELL

 PECKET WELL

Today, Jerry and Paul did some waymarking and cutting back at the top of Delf Lane above Pecket Well. There are a number of Bridleways intersecting with Footpaths in this area which can be puzzling for walkers and riders. We installed three marker posts at different junctions to indicate the correct route and also completed some cutting back where the path was overgrown.

Path cleared and marker post installed

Where the Bridleways meet at the top ends of Delf Lane and Slack House Lane, a third way leads off skirting the bottom stretch of Delf End Quarry. Here we installed a second marker post.

Post installed marking the two routes.

Further up, by South Shields Farm on the moor edge, we cleared away an overgrown gateway where the footpath leads onto the moor.

Gateway now accessible.

Another marker post was installed at the four-way junction lower down Delf Lane on the bridleway leading into Old Lane.

Bridleway marker post installed.

Today's work funded by Wadsworth Parish Council. Many thanks.
