It was a day of ticking off a whole host of smaller tasks above Todmorden for Rich, Andrew, Neil M, Catherine and Kasher.
Near Flailcroft the team:
- cleared and repaired a small boardwalk on the Tod Centenary Way link path at Tod 082
- cut back the conifers which were overhanging the path
- replaced the marker post at the junction of two paths above Flailcroft
- replaced two further posts on Tod 082
- way-marked through Flailcroft and down through the fields and
- cleared the steep steps
We will need to come back to Tod 082 to replace a number of steps and fettle up the stile which is difficult to use. We will also need to clear the stone steps up to Flailcroft from the back of the old Scaitcliffe Hall in Todmorden.

We then moved to Tod 080, which leaves the track at Todmorden Edge North, to replace the tread-board on a stile and way mark the route across the fields. At the moment these fields are full of waxcap fungi including some lovely Pink Ballerina Waxcaps.

In the last hour of the session, we replaced a marker post on Tod 072 near Wetshaw and sorted out a finger post at the junction of Tod 081/083/072.
Meanwhile, in a chilly workshop in Mytholmroyd (after a field visit to measure up), Ken and Frank H kept warm by making gates which we had hoped to use for a series of stiles in the Blackshaw Head area. Unfortunately, this will no longer be possible but these standard size gates will find ready homes very soon.
Today's work was funded by a kind donation from TodWalkers (http://todwalkers.org.uk).
