Mick, Ginny and Neil McKeating ('enjoying' his first session with CROWS) went to Melling Clough above the Bacup road to make improvements to the footpath which crosses the stream by means of stepping stones and a grab rail. New steps were recently put in, but the mud and water sliding down the hillside were starting to bury them. The work involved clearing the mud, digging a ditch to take the water off, installing a grab post and putting staples on the boardwalk to give more grip.
We then went on to footpath Tod 185 on Warland Road to repair and waymark a gate. We were very impressed with Neil's gate repair skills, but I forgot to photograph it when finished!
