WADSWORTH BOARDWALK

 WADSWORTH BOARDWALK

Ian S and Paul decided to have a Wadsworth boardwalk day up behind the Hebden Bridge Golf Club where the footpath veers off to the left down from the Calderdale Way through a kissing gate. Here the path becomes a boggy mire for a long stretch before going downhill to the main road by Far Nook.

The boggy site

We had a five-foot length of assembled boardwalk left over from our Erringden boardwalk venture, so we set off carrying the article from the golf club (thank you for letting us park our vehicle!) to the intended site; a boggy bowl by the kissing gate. This was followed by two more such worthy trips to carry the tools and pieces of timber required to install the boardwalk. After much huffing and puffing we set about fixing the boardwalk into place.

Ian setting sail!?

The length of boardwalk fitted snugly into the space required and with some deft landscaping the job was completed!

Job done!

We also widened and tidied up the pathway on the other side of the kissing gate:

Path widened.
