Stile Repair above Height Wood, Eastwood
Ian S and Paul repaired a stile that enabled access over a wire fence on the tree line above Height Wood on the edge of the old Erringden Deer Park boundary. On arrival, we noted that the stile's tread board was propped up on one side with a pile of stones and on the other side by a rotted stile leg! Setting to work: two new stile legs were installed and the salvaged tread board nailed into position. Two cross pieces were re-instated and wire fencing on the bottom half of the stile tidied up. After, we sat and ate our packed lunch enjoying the views across the valley and espied a Kite soaring high above on the thermals!
