WADSWORTH - PECKET WELL

PECKET WELL / WAINSGATE

Nick and Paul, kitted out with waterproof clothing, worked in three locations in the Wadsworth area.

At first site we set about putting up a couple of waymark signs and cut back vegetation that was encroaching on the wee path that runs along the back of Wainsgate Farm toward Shaw Croft Hill.

We then moved on to cut back a wildly overgrown path where the CW meets Slack House Lane from Shaw Croft Hill.

By this time the early morning clouds gave way to blue sky as we arrived at Plumpton above Pecket Well to work on a path that runs over Aberdeen Flats toward Spinks Hill Farm. Here we installed a marker post, where two paths meet, and three yellow-topped posts as visual markers on this isolated stretch of moorland.

Marker post installed: Aberdeen Flat
"This ground is very hard!"
