What a great day to be a CROW! Today's team of Catherine, Andrew B and RJ worked in the most beautiful of locations with stunning views . . . and yet managed to get some serious work done!
The first task of the day was to complete the tree enclosure at Guide Quarry, started last week. There are now four tree enclosures here. Today's work entailed planting the tree, adding the final rail and then fixing sheep netting to keep this small tree safe from grazing stock. The three trees already planted seem to be surviving. The regular watering that CROWS did over the summer has certainly helped.

Whilst at Guide Quarry and along Flower Scar Road, the team cleaned the information boards for the Geology Trail which starts from here. See: http://www.todmordenmoor.org.uk/trail.html

The team then moved along Tower Causeway to repair the boardwalks across the moor on Tod 077 and Tod 073. A number of cross-treads had been damaged and needed replacing. The team also replaced some rotten stobs so that the boardwalks are now re-stabilised.

There are some more tasks to be completed here:
- Two marker posts need to be re-instated
- More cross-treads need to be replaced
- The way marking needs to be enhanced
