MIDGLEY

Midgley: Beyond Chapel Lane

In the enforced absence of the other members of the team, Jan and Ray went back to the footpath beyond Chapel Lane, that leads towards Churn Milk Joan. In spite of the morning mizzle, a long and constructive day's work ensured that this section of the badly eroded footpath was significantly improved.

Before...

After...

The work involved retrieving the revetment and stobs stashed away behind the gorse by last week's working party to supplement the new risers, stobs and revetment brought up from the depot.

The overall plan was to continue widening the path and replacing or recycling several sections of revetment.  The existing gaps in the revetment were seamlessly filled in and work began on installing steps up a steep part of the path.

There is still even more to do! The steps need to be completed and other sections of path requiring new revetment have been identified.  A third visit should do it...

Today's task was funded by Little Box Consulting.  Many thanks.
