CALDERDALE WAY
Ian S and Paul worked on a stretch of the Calderdale Way that runs down from Churn Milk Joan toward Moorside (above Midgley, below Crow Hill). There is a string of marker posts along this stretch guiding the walker through rain, mist and hail toward the delights of Luddenden Dene. Weather-beaten and forlorn they had lost their colour and many were loose at the base. Ian S and Paul set about firming up nine posts and replacing one that was beyond redemption. This was followed by a lick of fresh yellow paint to the top of each post to help the walker have a clear sight line along the moorland contour. The working conditions were ideal - fine weather and far-reaching views.
