There was a long list of tasks in the Todmorden area for Ken and Kasher to tackle. Unfortunately, although we managed to tick off a number of outstanding jobs, the list continues to grow!
a) Stile opposite the Youth Hostel in Mankinholes.
CROWS had recently received a report about the condition of the stile opposite the Youth Hostel in Mankinholes. This stile is at one end of a popular footpath from the Top Brink to Mankinholes. By the end of the session we had: replaced one leg, reinstated the upper tread-board, sorted out the lower tread-board and strengthened the fence posts.

b) Marker post near West End, Sourhall.
The marker post here is in a very convenient position for the livestock on this moor side. The post has been reinstated but at an increased depth. Hopefully this post will be able to withstand the demands of local sheep and cattle who use it as a rubbing post!

c) Marker post pointing towards Bearnshaw Tower above Cornholme.
The metal post and flag near Frostholme Mill, pointing towards Bearnshaw Tower, was in a terrible state. We had planned to "re-home" another metal post and flag which we had recently acquired. However, despite many valiant efforts, we were unable to find a suitable place to put this new post, which should have been in the bank near the railway arch leading towards Frostholme Terrace and the track to Bearnshaw Tower. We will need to rethink our approach to this task. However, to ensure that there is a post in place we have installed a yellow topped marker post beyond the railway bridge but visible from the road.
We will return to this task at a later date.

Funding for these tasks has been provided by local donations. Many thanks.
