Two teams working on this route.
Ray and Rich worked on the path from Mount Olivet Chapel to Winters.
The stone steps below Winters were cleared. They are a bit haphazard but do an adequate job.
A rotten waymark post at a path junction was replaced.
Pennine Way and E-trail waymarks added. |
Brambles crossing the path (and causing a trip hazard) were all cut back or pulled out.
Dealing with the brambles |
There were some muddy sections on the path that needed scraping and several sections needed levelling and widening.
One of the sections widened |
Frank S and Ian S worked lower down on the path leading up from Lacey House. First we cut back some overhanging bushes and brambles. Here's Ian attacking them with the hedge trimmer.
Then we replaced two waymark posts. This is the first one.
And this is the second one, with the old broken post lying in front to show why it needed replacing.
All the work on the Pennine Way was funded by Natural England and Calderdale Council Highways.
