A third session at Broadhead Clough for RJ, Fred and Kasher.
A VERY long carry with revetments, risers, stobs and tools to the work site, near the top of the clough and the gateway to Erringden moor. We are very grateful to a local resident who helped with the initial carry through the clough.
The problem:
Towards the top of the clough the footpath was very uneven and wet. The challenge was to make the surface safer and drier.

The task:
After much debate, discussion and argument we managed to get the revetments in place and at the correct angles and heights. We then went on a hunt for stones...... and more stones! The path was then created by reducing the height of the adjacent bank and backfilling the pathway.

Next work:
Another piece of revetment will be needed next week to complete the new pathway. We will also be tackling the drainage here as well as building four steps twixt Broadhead Clough and Erringden Moor. Thankfully all the timber for the work has now been carried to the site so, hopefully, next week's tasks will be slightly easier.
Work funded by HEC electrical contractors. Many thanks.
