The wonderful stone steps down from Shore Chapel are a well know local landmark. There are 42 uprights to the iron railings and they have started to fail through rusting.
A few days and lots of research went in to planning their repair. Then Ken, Ray and Rich went into action.
23 were not too bad so were just wired brushed and repainted.
13 had severe rusting so were ground off and then sealed with epoxy putty (new to us as well!) and then repainted.

Four had rusted through and were no longer attached to the ground. These were ground back and then sealed into a wall flange attached to the stone step. Painting is the final job

This work should prolong the life of the railings up the stone steps for many years.
