COTTONSTONES & SOWERBY

Bernard, Ginny and Rich worked on a series of tasks.

A bridge on the bridleway off Kennel Lane, Cotton Stones was nearly washed way because of a fence being blocked by debris and water backing up. The plank seen here is NOT the bridge but was the item which was replaced by our boardwalk/bridge. We have no idea who put this plank back here or why.

The fence forming an impenetrable barrier

All cleared
Work funded by donations to CROWS.

We then went up to a path off Shaw Lane leading to Crow Hill. The stile which is on one of the Village Walks routes was in a real mess.

A new step installed and rails replaced.

Not pretty but easy to cross!
The path was also waymarked from Shaw Lane.

We then went on to Wine Tavern Lane to sort a stile blocked by barbed wire. We put in a new post, reattached the wire, securing the path whilst ensuring stock could not get out.

Work on the Village walk route  was funded by Sowerby Residents' Association using 'Tesco Bags of Help'.
