Frank S, Nigel, Catherine, Bernard , Lynda, Ken and Eleanor were out today to repair stiles, cut back branches and improve a lovely path down the side of Sandyfoot Clough, but we hadn't planned for the weather! Attempts at drainage became the order of the day ....
Frank S carrying stone to build a dam to channel water through a wall drain.
This was the scene that met us when we went down to mend this stile. After a lot of unsuccessful attempts to try and drain off the water, we had to abandoned the job; it's a task for a drier day.
There were also a number of fallen trees with branches to lop which Catherine and Lynda tackled.
They then cut back some holly that was intruding into the narrow path.

Happily , Bernard and Ken made good progress on another stile ... and now it gives access to the lovely path down Sandyfoot Clough
Meanwhile, Nigel and Frank S went up the hill to repair a couple of field stiles. Despite the young heifers , they managed a good repair....
