Frank S and Rich started by fixing a broken bridge in Nutclough that was reported last week.
Some rocks had fallen on to the bridge smashing two of the slats.
We were worried that someone might fall down these gaps |
Should last some time |
As we were putting in the lower post we had a conversation with the landowner about a blocked drain on the path which was sending loads of water down the path and beginning to scour the surface. With her permission, we unblocked the drain and already the water started to dry on the path.
Drain now working again
We then cut back the entire path; mainly encroaching bilberry, bracken and some tree saplings.

The label is the bottom of the path, at the top it joins the track leading to Roundfield Farm |
The path is on one of the Todmorden 'There and Back' walks and the work was funded by Todmorden Town Council.
Bernard and Ken made the route safe on TOD160 by moving passage away from the edge, cutting back trees / brash & debris, ditching and erecting marker posts.

Job completed
Ian and Catherine installed a new routed wooden notice board (courtesy of Calderdale Countryside Service) onto Langfield Common above Mankinholes. They then went on to do minor works on Todmorden 209 at Walsden.

A few small jobs were done to improve the path from Hollins Road in Walsden up to Lumbutts Road. A step at the bottom of the path was straightened up and secured with pegs, and the two wobbly uprights at the stile were firmed up. Two of the stone steps further up were lifted and repacked and some drainage work was carried out.
