Four teams out today.
Team 1:
Fred, Ray and Frank H returned to Hangingroyd for a final session of constructing steps and
installing revetment. So, here we go ...
Meanwhile, just above these steps, the path follows the contour of the banking but is narrow and sloping. A considerable amount of cutting back, widening and levelling was needed ...
The day was very humid. As the picture above left shows, Frank H is disappearing into a steamy jungle! Thankfully, he survived!
By the end of the day we could stand back and admire ...
All that remained to do was:- trim a few stobs, grade the banking, scatter some grass seed and add a layer of fine aggregate, as needed, to the step treads. This project was quite challenging both technically and physically, but we are very pleased with the outcome.
Team 2:
Gerald, Stella and Stuart tackled a narrow and overgrown path between Burlees Lane and Raw Lane. This is bread-and-butter CROWS work and helps to keep walking a pleasure.

Ginny and Paul surveyed Walk 2 from the new 'There and Back' publication.
Team 4:
Bernard and Richard J finished off the path near Blake Dean.
Steps were put in, a finger-post erected and some revetment installed.
This work was funded as part of National Trust access path project.
