HARDCASTLE CRAGS

Two teams working on the Slurring Rock path.
The desire line which joins both ends is narrow, sloping and often slippery over roots and streams.

The diggers team of Bernard, Rich, Gerald, Dave, Graham and Richard J widened about 60 metres of path through a conifer plantation.

This was the only 'before' picture showing the sloping path

This  is the same section after the widening.

Here are some other photos of the work we completed.

Dealing with some tricky roots

Might need to add some revetment later

Much easier to use

We need to go back to construct some steps and put in several sections of revetment to secure the edge of the path; but no insurmountable obstacles so far.
The construction team of Paul, Stella and Frank installed revetments at the eastern end of the 'desire line'. Progress was slower than expected because of numerous tree roots and deceptively slippery working conditions.

More of the same next week. 'There's a long, long trail a-winding'  . . . but with some steps!
