Two teams today
Ginny, Peter and Ian went to Kitling Bridge to deal with a drainage problem, then cut back the Calderdale way and finishing up at the bottom of Midgehole Lane to cut back overhanging vegetation.
Bernard, Frank, Lynda and Rich returned to Wheat Ings.
First job was to sort out the drainage down the path to the bridge. Channels cut, grips put in and causey stones cleared.
Farther on, in the adjacent field, the water in Horse Hey wood was flooding the path making it well nigh impassable. The water was diverted into the stream and the route well cut back. Should dry out very quickly.
The gate at Wheat Ings was in poor condition so needed a bit of TLC
With a bit of time over we were also able to clear the causey stones by the bridge.
This stretch of path is now passable, so the next stage is to survey the path from Midgehole all the way up to Lumb Falls.
