Task 2 to complete the drainage on both the footpath, the turn-byes and the stone trough

Gerald and Richard discovered that the water was coming from a spring from a wall and simply taking the easiest route down the hill.

The turn-byes were widened and deepened to direct the water into the channel next to the wall.

Richard and Fred then worked on levelling the stone in front of the trough, stabilizing the front stone of the trough and trying to clear the pipe for the water to flow away.

Fred discovered the culvert entrance and the water soon disappeared.

Running into another trough further down the hillside.

This caused other problems further down the hill as the water was now running quicker. Once again Fred and Richard sorted the problem.

3) to waymark previously sited post

4) to check on stability of marker post down Pennine Way path
The post turned out to be two foot high which was rotted through and laid on its side. We could do little more than re-site it and support it with stones. Needs a new post.

5) to clean two finger posts and wooden seat.

In the meantime Gerald had discovered a set of causey steps and set off to clean them.

6) to site and waymark 3 posts near Windy Harbour Farm
