RYBURN - 3 sites

A team of five - Lynda, Jack, Graham, Angus and Rich - went to complete three tasks reported to us through Calderdale Highways.

i. Path off Rishworth New Road

The path runs between a chain-link fence and the back of the houses in Rishworth Hall Close. The path was very overgrown with brambles, raspberries, a few escaped shrubs from people's gardens and several  Holly and Hawthorn trees.

Not an attractive path to try out!

Path now all cut back

We will go back and check the path surface. It was too frozen, today. to judge how much work is needed.

ii. Path leading down to Bar Lane

We dealt with the bottom end of this path last week so today was an inspection of the top half. There is some encroaching vegetation but this (and any subsequent growth) will be best tackled in April.

iii. Stubbing Lane

This is a lovely bridleway off Beestonley Lane but encroachments from hedges, brambles and overhead branches were making it difficult for horse riders.

All the encroaching vegetation removed

Finally the route was waymarked from the roadside.
