There were three teams out on Friday, working at various locations from Stoodley Glen below the Pike, to the hillside below Gaddings Dam and the Walsden end of Lumbutts Road.
Ken and Neil Mc tackled a set of steps connecting Lumbutts and Knowl Wood Road, resetting some loose and missing steps and clearing the surfaces of accumulated detritus.
Mick and Gareth re erected a fallen fingerpost on the Todmorden Centenary Way in Stoodley Glen, put up a waymarker post at the entrance to Shurcock Farm (better known perhaps as Blarney Castle) and inspected a very wet and muddy path leading up towards the Basin Stone to which we will return in the next few weeks.
RJ, Ian V and Duncan tackled drainage problems on the wet and eroded path to Gaddings Dam from the Shepherds Rest pub (home of arguably the best pies and views in the upper valley) and re erected some fallen marker posts.
This week’s work was funded by public donations to CROWS. Many thanks for your support.
