WALSDEN - Ramsden Clough area

A team of Andrew, Duncan, Jan and Kasher tackled a number of jobs in the Ramsden Clough area:

1) Replacement of one step-riser in the flight of steps beyond the bridge over Ramsden Clough.

2) Infilling of the steps built last year by CROWS on the pathway which runs uphill but parallel to Ramsden Clough on Tod 133.

3) Sorting out the drainage along Tod 193 which runs down to Ragby Bridge and then up towards Inchfield Moor. This included clearing/creating a ditch on one side of the track and clearing numerous turn-bys.

With the help of a trusty wheelbarrow we managed to get three bags of MOT from the parking near the fishing lake to the bridge. A pity we could not have found an equally "easy" way of carrying the MOT up the hillside for task 2!

For task 3 we seem to have managed to channel the water along Tod 193 into a ditch and to a sturdy turn-by. Unfortunately we could not persuade the water to go through the wall. We will need to return to try to get this sorted out. We will also need to clear the turn-bys on the other side of the track up to Inchfield.

Today's work was funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks for your support.

Thanks too to Tom for allowing us to park near his house thus minimising the walk to one of today's tasks.

Turn-bys are great if they manage to get the water
off the track! Plan B is needed here.

A slightly chilly start to the day.
