WALSDEN - Cranberry Dam area again

Neil Mc and Gareth continued the series of work parties installing new stiles on the footpaths and access land above Cranberry Dam.

Today’s stile lies about 200m south of the new boardwalk installed by Wednesday’s team.  The existing stile had some crumbling timbers and broken treads plus issues with the fencing which had become detached and was tied back with that favourite South Pennine stand-by - baler twine!.

After three hours a new stout stile had been constructed.  More are to follow as we work our way along this attractive path which forms part of the Todmorden Centenary Way.

The team will be back to remove barbs from the barbed wire; to put guards on the wire near to the uprights; to add in way-markers and to see of any further improvements can be made to the fencing which is currently secured against the stile uprights.

Today’s work was again funded by Todmorden Wind Farm through the Community Foundation For Calderdale.  Thanks as always.
