The strimming of the Pennine Bridleway (PBW) continues! Today, RJ, David and Kasher initially acted as additional carriers of timber and tools for the team working on the bridge over Stone House Clough. We then went to strim the PBW from Bottomley (Tod 198). Part of this route was strimmed earlier in the season but, today, the full route was strimmed and cut back. Hopefully the horse riders and mountain bikers will find the going much easier now that the trees have been pruned.
We then moved to Warland to strim the path down from Warland Farm to the canal (Tod 184) and then we proceeded to strim part of Tod 145 through the bracken. This was cut a few weeks ago but an extra session cutting back the bracken will hopefully weaken it and make it less of a problem next year. We have not finished this path so will need to return.
Today's work has been funded partly by Lancashire County Council and partly by Todmorden Town Council. Many thanks.
