TODMORDEN - Bottomley and Ramsden Wood

Ian S and Kasher have numerous items on the Todmorden "to do" list and today selected a couple of tasks in the Walsden area:

1:    Repairs to a stile on Tod 135 behind the "new" houses near Ramsden Clough. This was identified as a problem a couple of weeks ago when the team went out to investigate a drainage problem on this path. We have replaced one step-leg and firmed up the others. Staples were also put on the treadboards to improve the grip. Whilst there, we also cut back the rampant brambles and improved some of the drainage.

2:    Repairs on Tod 145. A footbridge crosses Stone House Clough below Bottomley and today's task was to replace 12 of the cross-treads. The bridge will also need further work as all the handrail posts are rotten at the base.

Both these locations, however, seemed to to be 'hot-spots' for mosquitoes who were particularly partial to Ian

Thanks to Ray C for providing tea/coffee.

Today's work has been funded by Todmorden Town Council. Many thanks.
