Mount Skip: Hebden Bridge Golf Club
On an idyllic sunny day, Ian S and Frank H replaced a failing boardwalk that crosses a large ditch where footpath Hebden Royd 024 leaves the golf course boundary just above the club house (see map).

Last month CROWS made repairs to temporarily secure the boardwalk but the need for a full replacement was put onto our 'To-Do' list.

| 2. Original boardwalk: It twists and it slopes. The anchoring stobs are completely rotten and the stringer ends are decayed. The step-up to the stile depend on two finely balanced rocks. |
The detail:
The old boardwalk was removed. The basic framework for the new boardwalk was constructed and platform positions for bearers were created. By using different height bearers it was possible to build a level boardwalk with an easier step-up onto the stile.

| 4. Work progresses: Boardwalk in place with the stringers anchored by stobs and attached to the bearers. Is it horizontal in both directions?. . . . |

We were pleased with the final outcome. The new boardwalk is sturdy, secure, foot-friendly and offers a safe crossing over a deepish ditch (cunningly hidden by enthusiastic ground-cover).
Today's work was funded by general donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
