There were two teams out from Todmorden today:
Team 1: David and Kasher were working on the boardwalks and steps near Obadiah Wood above Cornholme. This was session 5 in the area and, other than some final tidying up, should be the last full session. Hopefully FP 060 will now be easier and drier for people to use. We will return next week to fix some trim on one of the boardwalks and put more MOT on the step areas (as well as pegging down the geotextile on some of the steps).
Team 2: Mick and Ian V were on cutting-back and fettling-up duties but, thankfully, helped Team 1 with carrying the bags of MOT to the boardwalk and steps site. Then they cut-back on the path Tod 164 which is near Oldroyd and also investigated a stile which had been reported to CROWS. This stile is on Tod 112 near to Naze farm above Gauxholme and features in one of Christopher Goddard's 'Woodland Walks'. Temporarily, we have made the stile safer but will return to replace the uprights and sort out the adjacent fence . . . a job for another sunny winter's day.
