Todmorden Country Fair: Gazebo in the Sun!
A group of CROWS prepared the materials, erected the gazebo, set-up the displays and ran the CROWS' stall at the popular Todmorden Country Fair in Centre Vale Park . . . and here's a map of the location . . . . with hardly a right-of-way in sight!
Today was a day to 'showcase' CROWS by
i) Exhibiting photo displays of typical tasks, especially those in the Todmorden area.
ii) Engaging with the public to explain and/or clarify the sort of jobs that CROWS undertake.
iii) Offering advice (where possible) regarding rights-of-way problems.
It was a very successful, hot, sunny day. The Country Fair was well attended and CROWS 'tent' was in an area with particularly heavy footfall. We would like to thank the many visitors for their compliments, the interesting discussions . . . and the contributions to our collection 'pot'.
The detail.
Some difficulties were created by the highly contrasting light-dark locations for some of the photographs but here's selection that we managed to salvage!
1. Flying the flag for CROWS |
2. And here's a CROW. Impressively, no-one was deceived into thinking that a plastic CROW could hear! |
3. Photo display of work done in the Todmorden area. |
4. General display items |
5. CROWS joined by the new Mayor and Mayoress |
6. Gazebo problems. Some of the plastic components had succumbed to the heat. Mmm! . . . perhaps Frank and RJ had as well! - a gazebo dismantling course may have to be arranged! |
