Today we returned to Redacre with a team of three - Rich, Neil D, and Frank S.
Previously, we had dug out most of the cobbled track leading down from Royd View, Banksfield, and today we completed the job. Over many years the track had been covered by debris washing down from the hillside above.
After our digging, the bottom of the track was much more inviting, and easier walking too.
This path is now a useful alternative for children going to Burnley Road School from Banksfield estate - much nicer than the main road.
We then went to the top of Redacre Wood. On our last visit we repaired the steps leading up to the metal gate, and today we replaced the four old steps at the top of the main incline.
This work was funded by public donations to CROWS through Just Giving. Many thanks.
