TODMORDEN - Hartley Royd and Hudson Bridge

After a number of exceptionally wet work parties on Fridays, it was a delight to have such a fantastic day to go out to undertake drainage work and way marking.

Catherine and Kasher headed off to Hartley Royd, above Cornholme, to replace a marker post at the junction of Todmorden 197 and 049. We also replaced faded way markers on nearby routes.

1. The replaced marker post.
2. The view down the valley.

We then headed off towards Hudson Bridge to clear blocked turn-bys in order to get the water off this very popular route (Bridleway Tod 049).

3. The blocked (and overflowing) turn-by.

4. Another blocked turn-by.

5. Catherine clearing the turn-by.

6. The cleared turn-by.

Today's work has been funded by a kind donation in memory of Robert Harker who was a keen walker and a lover of the countryside.
