We received a message via the CROWS website that a tree had fallen and blocked the path through Whams Wood. Frank S went out on a survey to investigate, and sure enough there was a fallen tree on the path leading from Lower Cragg Farm diagonally up the hill through Whams Wood. It was just where we were told - between the "W" and the "o" on the OS map!
Luckily, only the thinner, upper branches were obstructing the path, so it didn't need a chain saw, and a super-sharp pruning saw was good enough. After a bit of work the path was clear again.
