TODMORDEN - Great Rock Area

Today's "Strimming and Trimming" team of RJ, Fred and Kasher continued their work trying to clear the footpaths in the Great Rock area.

We worked on Todmorden 007, which goes just below Great Rock and passes Whiteley Royd Farm, and Todmorden 006, which goes past Upper House Farm and down into Common Bank Wood.

1. The top of Tod 007.

2. Tod 006 just before it enters the wood.

Working to clear brambles and bracken, some of which were above head height, made for an exhausting day. However, we managed to clear the paths so that they are now walkable, and the remaining blackberries are easy to pick.

4. Fred doing the final clearance of
Balsam and Bracken

Many thanks to the landowner who had put his/her sheep in the top of the walled lane (Tod 007), which had cleared the vegetation amazingly well. It was also apparent that someone had walked these paths cutting back the worst of the brambles, many thanks.

5. All clear: Tod 006 going into
Common Bank Wood.

6. Fred at the end of a long day!

Today's work was funded by individual donations to CROWS. Many thanks.
