The Todmorden "Strim and Trim" team of Fred and Kasher packed their passports and ventured into Sowerby to attack Sowerby Bridge 067 (aka Lower Wood Lane).
The upper reaches of this narrow walled lane were impassable and choked with brambles, bilberries and a small amount of Himalayan Balsam. The lower parts of this lane were relatively clear except for brambles and Japanese Knotweed which seemed to be invading the side of the path adjacent to the waterway.

The cut vegetation from the upper sections of the footpath was raked off to reveal causey stones and stone steps. This should make walking along this path slightly easier.
It is hoped that we can return in the autumn/winter to see if we can improve the drainage and stop the water further undermining this pathway.

Many thanks to the person(s) who have already done some cutting back on this pathway between the canal and the river bridge. This has certainly helped to keep this route open.

Work on this footpath was funded by Sowerby Council. Many thanks.
