NUTCLOUGH HEBDEN BRIDGE

We worked on the permissive path running from the end of Edward Street into Nutclough.

There were 3 problems: escaped water on the path, uneven and sloping surfaces and encroaching holly.

Water crossing the path in several places

The problem was that water was escaping from the main channel and flowing down the hillside.

Main channel dug out and 2 hours later no sign on the path!

Improved crossing on the stream

Path widened and levelled

Then, on to lower Nutclough where a set of steps, leading to the dam, was overgrown and impassable.

You can see why people don't use them!

Steps cleared, but four will need replacing

These jobs funded by Friends of Nutclough

3. Both teams then  worked together to deal with several years mulch on the path by the dam and also higher up at Hurst Bridge.

One section covered in mulch

All cleared - should last a couple of years
