BARKISLAND VILLAGE WALK 3: Path in woods above the Sonoco Recycling Plant

On Monday Ginny, Lynda and Eleanor plunged into the dripping wet jungle that was the path above  Sonoco . If you recall that day it was throwing it down so we quickly abandoned the idea of fixing the boardwalk and concentrated on tackling the vegetation!

The perceptive among you will notice that it was a dry day when these photos of Eleanor in the undergrowth were taken as we did a recce on an earlier day. Lynda concentrated today on lopping the overgrowth and clearing . The result is below....

Similarly , this 'after' photo was taken on the Wednesday when we returned to fix the boardwalk! Monday wasn't really a day for photography.

It's a very long time since these steps were cleared. Ginny womanfully worked her way along a long stretch of the path cutting back and pulling out scores of nettles and balsam by the roots.

The full breadth of the steps was now revealed and a lot less challenging,

On Wednesday, Lynda and Eleanor returned to fix the boardwalk and do more cutting back. A completely different day weatherwise!
