TODMORDEN: WALSDEN-Cranberry Dam

 Walsden: Cranberry Dam

Mick and Kasher returned to the Cranberry Dam area to continue the boardwalk construction of started last week by Ken and Peter.

Boardwalk frame:

The basic framework is levelled both lengthways and laterally with:.

*bearers at either end

*two stringers parallel and resting on the bearers.

*anchoring stobs at ends of stringers

*cross-rails fixed at both ends

Towards the end of the session:

More cross-rails are now in place. The boardwalk is nearly complete. There has been a considerable amount of sawing . . . and drilling . . . and nailing . . . and aligning!

This boardwalk negotiates particularly boggy ground and leads towards the boardwalk installed earlier.

Mick, one of the more supple members of CROWS, is on that boardwalk and is demonstrating how easy it is to touch your toes - once you have remembered where they are!

This work (but not the toe touching) was sponsored by Crook Hill Windfarm Community Fund.
