Today Ken and Frank S were at Stones Wood, on a link path to the Todmorden Centenary Way above the Bacup Road out of Gauxholme. The first job was to repair and improve the steps by the stream. The bottom step was broken and the step up to the gabion basket was too high.
Here's the improved version with a new step at the bottom and an extra step added in the middle.
We then went back towards the layby to where the climb up the hill was quite difficult. This shows the work in progress with a stob being driven in. Notice the high step up to the tree root.
This is how it finished up with a wooden step added below the tree root and a stone step below that.
Finally we returned to the layby and cleaned the steps through the wall.
