BLACKSHAW HEAD

Billie and Frank S were at Blackshaw Head above Jumble Hole Clough. There were three jobs today - first a finger post which had lost its fingers. Here's Billie after fixing waymarks on each side and hammering stones down around the post to reduce the wobble.

Next - a finger post that was lying on its side, though how it came out of the ground is a complete mystery. Here's Frank working on a new post hole with the old post leaning against the rock.

And here's the finished sign. Oops! The finger was in very poor condition and broke off, so we added yellow waymarks to show walkers the way.

We then went on to clean up the steps leading down through the woods.

Oh, and we also added more waymarks along the way, and surveyed a broken stile for fixing another day. It was a great day out in the sunshine!

This work was funded by Blackshaw Head Parish Council.
