Mo and Stella were at it again clearing turnbys on the bridleway that goes from Heptonstall to Midgehole. It was jolly hard work. We were not clear when the route was originally constructed. Some passers by said that it was Victorian. Mo thought the cobbles were much older. Turnbys direct the water off the path and down the wooded hillside. There is many a turnby in this steeply wooded valley.
