LOCKDOWN-3: IN-DEPOT AND MIDGLEY

A morning session on a (relatively) mild day. Frank H did a short maintenance-of-tools session in the depot before meeting Ian S in Scotland (the one near Midgley!) for a job survey.

The task will be the repair of a stile.

Ian contemplating the meaning of
old, wrecked and decrepit.
The stile side-posts are completely rotten as are parts of the step legs, and other timbers are damaged. A new two-step stile is the best option!
Luckily, there is parking about 100 m away (no long carries of materials), the ground is reasonably soft (post and leg holes should not be too labour intensive), a source of packing stone is nearby (no long walks with rubble) and a treadboard may be re-usable.
Some thought will have to be given about what to do with the straining post and fence wires. Fortunately, we have plenty of time for that - work cannot start until the Covid situation eases.
