CROW NEST WOOD, HEBDEN BRIDGE

Second session on the scoured paths in Crow Nest Wood; great to see lots of people using this path including several young children. Ian, Mo and Ginny worked on the path higher up. Again the same strategy of cutting back vegetation so people can walk on the bank alongside the scoured path.

Scoured path before ---  and after creating higher path and stone bridge

Lower down, Rich and Heidi extended the path started last week (forgot to take a photo!).

We then moved farther down the path to cut back the encroaching self-seeded trees to uncover a flat surface alongside the scoured path.

Before and after cutting back the path

We didn't get to the bottom so more cutting back, the removal of a tree across the path and way-marking means session III is needed.

To be tackled next week!
