Today, Lynda and Eleanor finished cutting back the bridleway up to Long Causeway from Ryburn Reservoir
.... and then went on to look at the stile over Sandyfoot Clough in Barkisland with a view to replacing the tread board and putting in a new upright. A simple job ? Last time we tried to do it , it was under about 2 foot of water in the winter. This time the flood had subsided thankfully.
.... but when we came to dig the hole for the upright we discovered it was solid stone underneath that mulch . It flummoxed us but if another CROW has time to check it out and come up with a solution it would be gratefully received! The time wasn't wasted though as we returned back up Stoneycroft Lane and did some serious cutting back.
