NEW DEPOT - GETTING IT READY 3

Work has progressed at the new depot. Ken, Ray and Frank H have put in long shifts on some tricky tasks ... and, amazingly, stayed calm throughout! There was no resorting to: 'If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong'!

Here are some work-in-progress pictures showing the bare room and then the construction of workbenches, a horizontal storage rack for uncut timber and a vertical storage facility for cut and shaped timber :

Room corner before work started,

Work in progress (just to left of first picture). Horizontal rack
partly constructed and base of vertical rack in place.

Work still in progress, but timber racks built, workbenches completed, power saw mounted
on right-hand workbench and blue storage boxes in place for off-cuts and scrap.

We had  some bulk items (e.g.3.0 m x 100 mm x 100 mm posts and 3.6 m x 200 mm x 50 mm rails) to transfer from the old depot by the river up to the new depot (given the fact we have been flooded twice the up bit is re-assuring!). These bulk items are very heavy so here's how we moved them.

One of the smartest removal vans in the area!

Many thanks to Howarths Removals for the free use of their vehicle and to the Bearder Charity who funded today's work.

More next week ... once the decorating squad has attacked the other half of the room and some storage racks have been assembled.
